The coach behind Strong Mind

Clinical training, pointed at a competition floor.

Strong Mind is a one-person practice on purpose. Every athlete works directly with Kamryn — the intake, the routine, the meet-day call. Nothing gets handed to an associate halfway through a season.

The write-up

“Life is full of change — whether that’s in the classroom, the workforce, or out on the field. I’m excited to support you through finding your path in life.”

Kamryn Attanasio is a Licensed Master Social Worker based in Nashville, Tennessee, working at the intersection of clinical practice and sport. Strong Mind is the part of that practice built specifically for gymnasts — a sport where the margin between a hit routine and a balk is measured in tenths of a second and lives almost entirely in the head.

Her clinical training covers anxiety, life transitions, ADHD, burnout, and trauma, and that background is the reason the coaching goes deeper than motivation. A gymnast who has stopped going for a back handspring on beam is not lacking effort. Something in the nervous system has learned that the skill is dangerous, and it is doing its job. The work is to understand what it is protecting, then rebuild the skill on ground the athlete actually trusts.

In practice that means sessions are concrete. Athletes leave with something written down: a pre-competition sequence, a breathing protocol keyed to a specific rotation, a graded progression to run with their coach that week. Progress gets reviewed against what happened in the gym, not against how anyone felt about it.

Kamryn also works with the people around the athlete. Coaches and parents are often the difference between a block that resolves in six weeks and one that ends a career, and the Silver and Gold tiers build a monthly alignment call in for exactly that reason — without breaking the athlete’s own confidential space.

She sees gymnasts virtually across the country and in person in Nashville, and offers a free fifteen-minute consult so nobody commits to a tier before knowing whether the fit is right.
